Diploma of Engineering Technology
The Diploma of Engineering Technology provides students with practical and theoretical knowledge that forms the foundation for further study in engineering technology. The program develops essential skills in engineering principles, applied mathematics, and technical problem–solving, preparing students for both entry-level technical roles and progression into higher engineering qualifications.
As a pathway qualification to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology, the diploma enables students to build strong academic foundations before advancing into specialised areas such as Renewable Energy or Advanced Manufacturing. Through applied learning and industry-relevant content, students develop the technical capabilities required to succeed in modern engineering environments.

Admissions
Entry Requirements
To be considered for admission, you must meet one of the following pathways:
Pathway 1: School leavers
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 (or an equivalent qualification) with a minimum ATAR of 60 (or equivalent), including Mathematical Methods (or equivalent).
Pathway 2: Alternative entry pathway
Successful completion of an accredited Tertiary Preparation Program, Tertiary Orientation Program, or Foundation Year Program offered by an Australian university or another accredited institution that provides entry to Australian university study, plus evidence of Year 12 (or equivalent) Mathematical Methods (or equivalent).

English Requirements
If English is not your first language (or you have not completed recent studies in English), you will need to demonstrate English proficiency. The usual requirement is IELTS 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent test score:
IELTS (Academic): Overall 6.0, no band below 5.5
TOEFL iBT: Overall 60–78, with minimum scores of Reading 12, Writing 20, Listening 11, Speaking 17
Pearson PTE (Academic): Overall 50, with no score below 45 in each component
Cambridge English (CAE): Overall 169, with no band below 162

Imperial Engineering Education may grant credit for relevant prior learning, including formal study, non-formal training, and appropriate informal learning or experience.
